Taylor Gwynne brings a dynamic blend of elite playing experience, strategic volleyball intellect, and educational leadership to the sidelines. A recent graduate student at Smith College that earned a Master of Arts in Teaching, Taylor holds dual teaching licensure in Massachusetts and North Carolina and brings a strong academic foundation in politics, psychology, and education studies from Oberlin College. A decorated NCAA Division III setter, Taylor earned AVCA All-American Honorable Mention and All-Region First Team honors while leading Smith to its first NEWMAC Championship and NCAA Second Round appearance in nearly two decades. She also finished as the program’s career assists runner-up (3,000+) and single-season record holder, serving as court captain during Smith’s historic 31–7 season. Taylor’s coaching experience spans collegiate, club, and international levels. She has led training at the Pioneer Valley Volleyball Club, served as a resource coach at Cleveland Volleyball Club, and supported regional medal-winning teams as a volunteer assistant in Namibia. In addition to founding and coaching both the men’s and women’s club programs at Oberlin College, Taylor was selected as a 2023 AVCA Student-Athlete Demonstrator, working alongside legends such as Karch Kiraly and Alfee Reft. Beyond the court, Taylor is a committed mentor through Project Coach, a graduate fellow program fostering youth leadership in sports, and has served in athletic governance roles with the NCAC and NCAA Division III SAAC, championing student-athlete welfare and equity initiatives. Taylor Gwynne is an emerging coaching leader whose passion for teaching, volleyball development, and inclusive leadership continues to shape the future of the sport.
